How we work
Every engagement runs in four stages, from a parallel review through to ongoing support.
The scope and timeline of each stage are agreed in writing at the start.
- Stage 1
Parallel review
- Methodical research, cash-flow checks and the business model
- Sector regulation, corporate documents and contracts
- Technical audit of buildings and commercial space potential
- Stage 2
Strategy
- Feasibility study, regulatory impact assessment or legal opinion
- Contract design and an efficient transaction tax structure
- A debt restructuring plan and portfolio reshaping
- Stage 3
Execution
- Certified mediation through to a settlement deed
- Negotiation with creditors and closing transactions
- Civil, commercial or tax litigation, and expert evidence
- Stage 4
Normalisation
- Rolling out a tested business model
- Ongoing compliance, tax oversight and asset protection
An integrated approach
Business problems rarely come alone, so we work on research, law, tax and technical issues together.
-
Research-based
Feasibility studies and regulatory reviews use methods that can be re-tested.
-
Expert analysis in-house
Analysis and expert evidence can be prepared directly by the firm’s academic leader.
-
Law that fits the business
Legal solutions take cash flow, operations and continuity into account.
-
Technical understanding
An architecture background helps translate building issues into contracts and legal documents.
-
Tax considered early
Transactions are structured together with their tax treatment by a tax attorney.
-
Simpler coordination
Business, legal, tax and technical issues sit with one team, so there are fewer advisers to coordinate.
